Luz Broto at Bluproject Foundation | 274,59 m2

Proposal: to move to the exhibition space a fence of 50 linear meters of a plot of 274.59 m2 located in a central district of Barcelona, closed and paralyzed for years.

The Blueproject Foundation presents “274.59 m2″ by the artist Luz Broto, the first winning project of the residency program of 2014-2015.

Luz Broto (Barcelona, 1982) has a degree in Fine Arts and DEA in the PhD Art in the digital age. Intermedia creation of the University of Barcelona. She develops a situational practice, based on specific interventions of a performative character. Using the space’s characteristics as a starting point- architectural elements and infrastructure; organisational structures; regulations; protocols; historical or recent events- she creates minimal operations of displacement that, in the process of being carried out, bring into play the constrictions and complexities of the framework they inscribe themselves upon. Some of her latest works have been ‘17 m’ (ADN Galería, Barcelona, 2014), ‘Tie Up Loose Ends’ (García Galería, Madrid, 2014), ‘Raise the Water Level of a River’ (La Panera Art Centre, Lleida, 2014), ‘Stick my Nose in other People’s Business’ (LIPAC, Buenos Aires, 2013), ‘Cross That Forest Tonight’ (Institut für Raumexperimente, Berlin, 2012), or ‘Adjust to the External Temperature’ (Secession, Vienna, 2011).
